Nearly there…..

Filed under: The Wedding — witchpig @ 12:45 pm

Well, the Pig is away for work this weekend, which made me all girly and miss him…awwww.

Anyhoo…we have gotten confirmation to have the wedding in Boyce Gardens…YAH! We have chosen the menu, sent out invites and even gotten some replies.

Just got to get the boys dressed, flowers arranged, attend a hair trial day and get the dress altered. I hope that’s about it. A few little things here and there….oh the centerpieces too!

We’ve had our fair share of hassles to try and overcome…and are now at the stage of not worrying about pleasing other people and just making sure we plan our wedding…our way. I wonder how long it takes all other couples to get to that stage??? Haha!

Less than 2 months to go now…I can’t wait!!!

Priest appointment

Filed under: The Wedding — witchpig @ 8:51 am

We met with the Priest recently. He seems like a nice chap! We have a handful of info to go through, vows to be chosen, readings to be chosen, 168 questionaire to be answered! Hopefully, we get the approval to have our wedding outside in Boyce Gardens. I have been told by the Pig not to get my hopes up.

In other updates, WE GOT THE RINGS! We chose them a few weeks ago and picked them up last week! They look fantastic and are safely hidden away until April. Luckily, because I want to wear mine now! (I think the Pig is happy to wait )

Cake Toppers

Filed under: The Wedding — witchpig @ 10:57 am

Well, the custom made cake toppers have arrived!! YAH! Actually, they came last Friday, but of course we miss the delivery and don’t make the post office in time. Being the suburbs, they are not open on the weekend so its up early Monday morning to grab them before work!

Before leaving, I get a knock on the door and another parcel has arrived!! Woohoo! Got the little “tux” and “wedding dress” gift bags! They are pretty good for the price.

Picked up the cake toppers. I don’t think “Mack” looks quite right, The “pig” looks a little different and I have a scowl on my face. Other than that, you can tell it’s meant to be us, and should be interesting for the wedding!

Not sure what the Pig has planned for favours for the wedding…apparently something evil…must work that one out….

One more off the list

Filed under: The Wedding — witchpig @ 10:06 pm

Photographer has been booked. Yippppppeeeeee

She knows about the website so this is where we say nice things about the funky lady 🙂

In all seriousness having that one crossed off the list is such a relief and there are far less things on the list then a month ago. If we can keep on top of the game and get these things sorted out earlier, we might get some free time in the future.  Our custom made Cake Topper should arrive within the next fortnight as well.

Feel free to comment on what we should give the guests, I have sinister plans and the Witch has girly, pretty smelling plans.

Getting there!

Filed under: The Wedding — witchpig @ 12:52 pm

Well, as the Pig posted, we are slowing getting things together. After much hassle, we could finally set a date.

Decided to check out Boyce Gardens for a possible wedding ceremony. Took the future mother in law and mum to wander the gardens. It felt perfect and a lot smaller than I remember. A place where my brother and I often ran through, playing in the rainforest and jumping in the pool when the gardener wasn’t around….until the day he was around and busted us. Lucky for us, the owner was fine with us using the pool and playing in his yard.

The gardens are well kept, years after the owner passed away and donated the land to the University of Queensland. I emailed the groundsman (same guy…been there 33 years) and asked if we could get married there. Not a problem! Fantastic!

Wedding Bliss

Picking a date, what an issue. The date is not the important factor we decided we needed to find a date where every thing else matched up.

Overseas visitors being available, priest, reception facility, location for ceremony.

About a month after we wanted to have a date set we have accomplished it.

The big day will be Saturday the 4/4/09

Boyce Gardens in Toowoomba is booked with a fall back church  in case of bad weather.

Priest is locked in.

Encores for the reception in the heart of Toowoomba.

A couple of other thingsin the works.

One photographer we liked was stolen from under out feet, decision by next Monday on the photographer.

Plus I have still been travelling around everywhere.

The Dress

Filed under: The Wedding — witchpig @ 11:54 am

I will not confirm or deny if the Witch may have a dress in her possession or not. I just know I am not suppose to look at it.

Venue Selection

Filed under: The Wedding — witchpig @ 11:53 am

Jan (The Pig’s Mum) has been on the case of ringing every function centre within cooeee and getting a hold of their package options. Tonight we went and had dinner at one of the possibles. I will let everyone keep guessing, hte decision will hopefully be reached this weekend. 🙂

The proposal.

Filed under: The Wedding — witchpig @ 6:09 am

A “last minute” booking to Cairns, a booking at a 5star resort, all day snorkeling on Fitzroy Island, a “don’t worry about the cost of the meal” and let’s have wine…something is up with The Pig. After a nice stroll along the boardwalk of the Esplanade, and 45minutes of geocaching (apparently so I will sober up from the 1/2 glass of wine) and The Pig proposes!! Yippee!

Highlights were-

Him asking my father’s permission.

Calling his mother to tell her the news, only to be asked who was looking after the dorgi this weekend!

Neighbour Phil picking us up from the airport and almost crashing the car when he heard the news, a sudden swerve on the road and he was on the phone to Claire to spill the news!

The beautiful diamond ring he picked!!

From this date of the posting…only 8 months til the big day!
